Tce2 losses their game against Sosh 5

On Saturday the 9th of September 2023, Sosh 5 took on TCE 2 on the finals of res netball league at Tut Soshanguve South Campus on at 10:00 am. Sosh 5 won by 29-20.

In the first quarter of the game, there were many chances for Tce2 res as the managed to score 6 goals and Sosh 5 scored 11goals. The first quarter was a tough one as Sosh 5 was determined to score more goals.

Sosh 5 goal defender Thembelihle Mabanga prevented her opponents from scoring as she defended every ball that came close. Tce2 defenders was very weak resulting in Sosh 5 managing to score more goals on the first quarter.

On the second quarter the players were very tired because it was sunny. Sosh 5 showed more hunger and scored many goals in a space of 7 minutes. As fast as the second quarter was Sosh 5 and Tce2 had a tie of 7 goals.

Third quarter was very difficult for the players because they realised that they are left with one quarter now, so they must make sure that they score more goals. Tce2 scored 8 goals and Sosh 5 scored 13 goals. 

The mood changed on both teams now that they want to win the res league. Goal shooter, Thembi Sambo produced more goals for Sosh 5. Tce2 lost control and played with anger because they are not used in losing the games. The game ended with a score of 29-20 in favour of Sosh 5.

Thapelo Mulare coach of Sosh 5 said they planned to continue to perform well this year. “We can never predict what a netball game can turn out to be, but we can manage to perform well.”

“I thought the game was going to be tough, but we played our very best and we came with fire on our first quarter and the second quarter we lack with goals, and we were trying to defend on the other side. We played a good game, and we are a very good team,” said Thembelihle Mabanga, a player for Sosh 5.

Coach for Tce2, Nick Msomi said, “Today’s game was intense and there were mistakes here and there, I guess it’s one of the things where we need to go back and rectify those mistakes. Tce2 is a great team and players were fully fit, but we can’t blame the recess for the fitness of the players, but it was a great game.”

It was indeed a good game although one of the players fainted because of Asthma. Overall, the game was a success both teams were happy and are still looking forward to playing more games against each other.
