This service is provided through a holistic approach where the nurses are available 24 hours a day. The manager of MAT is Mrs. Lisa Pelser.

Dr Langi Malamba who’s the former 5th Registrar of the SACSSP and a social worker decided to do a handover event for two old age homes that needed bed linen and some accessories. She managed to mobilize for donations from a RH hotel.

Dr Langi said that the purpose of this event was to show the relevant of working together as NGOs. “We need to make sure that these kinds of events are happening, especially caring for our grandparents is not easy. People will not make noise about giving donations to the elderly or investing to the old age homes.”

Mr. Musa Sibisi, general manager of the RH hotel said, “We must always go out and assist those who are in needs and in our community everyday there’s someone who is looking for help especially from GBV victims, children as well as old age home so we must be there and assist.”

Manager of SAVF MAT old age home, Lisa Pelser added that she is grateful towards RH hotel for donating and they are reliant on donors and donations because out of the funding their residents only get the SASSA grants.

“It will motivate our elderly residents seeing new bedding on and you know how it feels to have new things in your room so they will be very happy like us,” explained Lisa.

Managers of these two old age homes were very happy and in tears about the donations and were thankful about the contribution of the RH hotel. Manager of RH hotel promised that they will do this more often not once in a year.
